OrthoProgress Ltd is a collaboration between a group of orthodontic practice principals who recognised an opportunity for a more efficient and partnership approach to training in Orthodontic practices.
Working individually in our own practices, we realised that the need to continually adapt, learn and develop our practices would be an ongoing challenge, and doing so in silo made little sense. Financially, and in terms of time and quality, pooling our resources into a common training service emerged as an idea that could benefit not only our practices but many others.
We also identified a real opportunity to make an impact not just on resource-sharing but on raising standards throughout our practices. Having knowledgeable receptionists able to respond to queries not only makes for a more rewarding and interesting role, but benefits patients and the productivity of the practice. Training all staff in everything from health and safety and team working, to an awareness of clinical developments, makes for a more slick, flexible and motivated team.
It has always been our aspiration to create training days that are genuinely enjoyable. Teams within and between practices bonding and sharing knowledge, and finding sessions fun as well as useful, is wonderful to see.
OrthoProgress is as much about listening as it is about training. Yes, we develop our training programmes in line with the needs of the industry. But we also listen to what delegates tell us. The feedback from each event is used in devising the content for the next, and during training days there is great scope for talking and sharing with colleagues, in a relaxed and unintimidating environment.
As a not-for-profit training organisation, OrthoProgess has gone from strength to strength. Our reach has increased all around Surrey, South London and further. The scope and breadth of our training has expanded and continues to develop. We have been successful in attracting leading high profile industry speakers and have carried out key support staff training at the BOS annual conference.
